Private Art Museum Report shows collector’s need for global reach, access.
Larry’s List and Art Market Monitor of Artron recently published The Private Art Museum Report, the first global study on the state of privately founded contemporary art museums around the world. Among a variety of data, the report illustrates how the market has become quite evenly distributed in countries from east to west in the past decade.
This precisely underscores the need for today’s collectors to have a truly global reach and access to the market.
South Korea has the highest number of private art museums (45), followed closely by the US (43), and Germany (42), then China (26), Italy (19) and Japan (11). The largest growth predictions were for China and the Middle East.
Here at ArtAndOnly, we’ve seen a very similar breakdown in our demographic data in regards to both our community of collectors and artists. We take pride in providing direct access to the global market and variety of influences and think it makes for an interesting discussion. Is your collection following these global trends? What other emerging dynamics have you seen?
