Pablo Reinoso’s Thoneteando pieces are a result of his desire to introduce a design object into sculpture. Expanding on the iconic Thonet chair designed in 1850, Reinoso explores the relationship and possibilities of using design and art together to create work that exists somewhere in between. In this fantastic and often humorous video, we get to see Choreographer Blanca Li interact with a variety of the “impossible” chairs, which ultimately takes the entire concept one step further through an entertaining display of absurdist performance art.
