ArtAndOnly has had the pleasure of twice interviewing artist Michel Platnic, along with posting multiple articles (that you can find here) about his fascinating work. However, in this video we get a backstage pass to see the process. Well known for reinterpreting the work of Francis Bacon and his ability to cross artistic disciplines, the video goes far beyond Platnic’s visual influence. It reveals how he sets the room up in trompe-l’oeil, photographs the work in such a way to make the formal space disappear, and the math-heavy method to make it all work out. Take a look.
